Hang on, are you replacing the whole dash loom? IE, the one that plugs in to the right of the pedals, runs up and across the whole dash, and ends in a plug to the left of the passenger footwell? That's what the guide assumes (I know cos I wrote it).wurlycorner wrote:
- Firstly, there is no 'grey' connector anywhere, they are green and yellow.
Secondly, reading that guide suggests there is little difference between the pre/post facelist looms. Unfortunately there seem to be quite a lot! (both in terms of number of wires per connector, pin outs and not forgetting that one connector is on a completely different side of the binnacle!)
Thirdly, that guide suggests there is an extra earth on one side but less wires on the other side. Unfortunately that's not what I found - there are 3 more wires in total on the el dials in comparison to pre-facelift.
Ah no, I'm not - I don't have the whole dash loom. I'm looking to use/modify the existing.indigolemon wrote:Hang on, are you replacing the whole dash loom? to mean once you compared the whole looms against each other and found they were pretty much identical.I finally got my hands on a Post-Facelift UKDM Dash Loom, and after looking at the plugs realised where it connected to the rest of the car it was pretty much identical to my Pre-Facelift loom.
I was deeply offended, been crying for the past ten minuteswurlycorner wrote:Sorry if my previous post came across as criticism.
I know, took me ages to get a hold of one. Made things a lot more simple though, any facelift UK breaker on here might sort you out?wurlycorner wrote:Either way, I'll update for those that don't get hold of the original loom (most sellers seem relectant to remove that IME)
Go for it man, likely your quickest way out now. I know it worked fine for Ammo that way!wurlycorner wrote:I know how to swap pins about in the original plugs (did it on the mirror/door looms) so TBH, It might even end up being less hassle than the alternative loom swap, which involves much destroying of hands?
