Looks a PITA to do given that the pipe goes from the front of the engine bay to the back and has numerous bolts along the way

It's the same pipe (minor differences in the run between 4th/5th gen but basically all the same).wurlycorner wrote:You could make one up yourself from a roll of cunifer pipe.
As a temporary fix, using some petrol hose will be fine though. I have a similar lash up on my 4th gen atm as a temporary solution.
Never tried anything with Cunifer pipe (without googling it I couldn't tell you what it is) but I might try cutting out the rusted part and putting on some petrol hose and see if it holds pressure.wurlycorner wrote:It's the same pipe (minor differences in the run between 4th/5th gen but basically all the same).
I just cut the metal pipe where it's good metal, slipped petrol hose over and jubilee clipped it. Sorted.
Cunifer home made would be the cheapest long term fix.

That hose is the low pressure return, it will be fine. There is already a section of hose on that pipe, to connect it to the reservoir.BMCC wrote:but I might try cutting out the rusted part and putting on some petrol hose and see if it holds pressure.
The original pipe is steel and not flexible.BMCC wrote:I've looked in the engine bay and some of the bolts may be rusted etc, its always the way. The pipe runs under one of the engine mounts as well. Don't know how flexible the pipe will be so getting it in and out of the bay may be tricky.
That would make a good signatureBMCC wrote:Satan's got more patience than me at times
That is what I have done. The part that was leaking was the bit that sits in the front bumper. I cut the pipes just before they turn right. I'll see if I can get a photo up tonight and confirm that it is not leaking any more.JDM-BB4 wrote:I discovered a leak on the PAS cooler behind the 5 th gen front bumper.
Is it ok to remove the cooler and loop the pipes with high presure hose?
I assume the PAS cooler isn't essential in our climate?
