Review: Blue Print rear upper suspension arms (wishbones)

Post by CARRisma » Fri Feb 07, 2014 6:05 pm

Ever since I bought my car in May 2005, it suffered a clunk noise from the near-side rear. In January 2010, I chose to have both rear upper suspension arms replaced during my car's 90,000 miles service to hopefully resolve the clunk. As we know, original Honda parts are quite expensive so I chose to buy a pair manufactured by Blue Print instead. The Blue Print part numbers are ADH28648 & ADH28649 and they cost me £126.50 each in 12/2009. The parts were fitted on 15/01/2010 and I was extremely disappointed to learn that the knocking issue was still present afterwards.

Anyway, while having my car's bushes replaced with ES polyurethane bushes last month, Rich at Performance Autoworks noted that the rear upper wishbone inner bushes were the worst state bushes on the car. This was surprising as the parts were fitted only 4 years ago.

So, by buying Blue Print rear upper suspension arms, you may be saving a hell of a lot of money, but don't expect their bushes to last long.

That sucks a bit.

I do wonder whether new Honda bushes would be much better or might have aged as well (bearing in mind they will actually be old stock)?

Difficult to know.

ADL/blue print is really good company, they actually make OEM parts under manuctures labels (like few other companies)
Most of UK honda parts are made in Belgium.

i think you might just have bad luck or installation was not as it should be?

Yeah, I've always had the impression that their parts were OK. Maybe I was unlucky? The rest of the suspension arm is fine, it's just the bushes which were shagged.

I always say if you get 1-2 years out of any non gen suspension part then your doing well. So 4 years . . That's bloody good Imo. :D

I didn't fit them myself, they were fitted by an independent Honda specialist in Hove who I have faith in that they were fitted correctly,
