100mph in 3rd?

i was thinking more of the general acuracy of all the tachos, do pigy back style controlers display current rpm?

Think I got 100mph out of 1st gear the other night?!... just sayin'...

But in all honesty, I do miss 5th gear cruising speeds in my 5th gen. i unfortunately have to do a lot of motorways and to sit at 4k to cruise along with everyone else seems a bit much

infact only a couple of the boxes will do 100 in 3rd without going into the red.

What red line we talking? Do you have your chart up at the mo? I don't hit peak power until 7500 now and tend to rev it to 7800, can it be done with an M2(or 4 I cant remember)V5 box? It's the one in the 98 VTi

red line of 7500, most of the boxes will be very close at 7800 (around 98mph as an avarage) m2v5 @ 7500 is 94mph so at 7800 around 97

yeh, desided to check out the accuracy of that data sheet that apears on most sites, so far it looks as though the m2a5 is wrong, this isnt even a vtec engine. also i think rob suggested that one of the final drives were also wrong but cant remember which one

Think it was the m2f5 he said was wrong, can remember what it's supposed to be tho
