Took the bug to work yesterday and it managed 55 miles of the 60 mile round trip before the carb went pop

getting a new carb today

The various blue's at the moment look pretty smart and are pretty much the best thing about it atm IMO!

Yeah, at the moment it looks like a work in progress, where you're waiting for a pair of new front wings, and because you need to use the car you've mocked up some covers over the front wheels to keep it legal enough to drive, but as soon as those new wings arrive, you'll be sending it off to have a nice full respray in the original blue, turning it into quite a smart looking car.

What I was planning to do was paint it satin black and then sand through the black in areas to let the blue show through. It already has that look on the roof so thinking of continuing it but black and blue.

As cheesy as it may be, I'm probably going to put some anarchy logos on the doors as well.

Once I've got the new carb on there I'll see about having a play with that paint effect on the decklid, see how it turns out.

Weather took a turn for the better today so decided to paint the bug. Really pleased with how it turned out.

Also decided to fit my old skull shifter knob as well.
