I know thats what i thoughtwurlycorner wrote:furry muff, to me it just looked big enough/exactly like a battery box with a filter on top though!

Since the clutch the engines been making an air leak noise, performance is unaffected and goes when you start moving. When i had a look there seems to be a small box coming off the main airbox (cam side) that isn't screwed in and its missing a pipe going to it :/ I probably forgot to re connect the pipe when i changed the clutch but i didn't unscrew it so could that be the problem ive been getting when idling? Il add a pic a bit later of it, has been using a bit more fuel than usual so im only getting around 18-24 mpg depending on how i drive

After pay day I'm going to sort the rad fan out and wire it up to a switch when get a dyno run, there's a place in Littlehampton called devil developments that costs £48 for 3-4 runs which isn't too bad, they said they wouldn't be able to map it being such an old ECU system so i don't know how im going to get around that lol.

I seriously wouldn't do this - wire it back up to the correct thermo switch on the engine I say.Rob_Cool1 wrote:After pay day I'm going to sort the rad fan out and wire it up to a switch
If you wire it to a manual switch, it only takes a few minutes of you being distracted sat in traffic in the summer to forget to turn it on and boom! ruined engine...

Re: Robs 2g BA1 prelude
cheers, il sort it out later or tomorrow at work lol
I need to check that the thermo switch works first
i get so paranoid when im in traffic im sure I'm wont forget to turn it on, will be turning it off il probably forget haha! If the thermo swith does work then i might wire it back up to that, but as it doesnt warm up normally (warmed up on this car is only up a 1/3rd on the temp gauge) i dont know if it will turn itself on when it needs to :/

Re: Robs 2g BA1 prelude
i found the missing pipe, was right under the box i was saying about
running a lot nicer now and not using as much fuel either which is handy as i have £20 to last till tuesday
The battery has got so bad that it only starts in the morning and after work, start it up more than that it goes flat, so im going to use the smaller battery that was in the mini that actually works! the battery in the car atm is too big so hopefully the smaller one holds a bit better
Done the tracking today too as it was pulling to one side.
rear cambers both on around -0.45 degrees.
front camber
OS -2.49,
NS -2.8
so that needs adjusting a tad when ive next got it jacked up
both front toe I've adjusted to 2 degrees toe in to help with stability
every little helps
rear toe was ok so i left them
When looking underneath though found out that the OSR shocks leaking like a bitch! thats another thing to add to the list! I haven't noticed any change in cornering so il keep an eye on it and get a few other bits done first
Went on the brake rollers and the rear brakes are really bad :L i think they both need a rebuild, they work but not very well :/ yet another thing! new pads and discs preferably all round too
It still stops pretty well, so again, add it to the to do list

Re: Robs 2g BA1 prelude
Weirdest things happened today. went out for a drive to mcdonalds (i was really hungry and didnt want anything at home
) the long way down some country roads. Almost died at least 3 times from puddles that i thought were smaller than they were, almost spun out when i hit one, no abs or traction control
but once i ate and went on my way back, everything that useally doesnt work has started working again :S
The intermittent wiper works fine now and so does the speedo that normally stops working once the engines warmed up. duno if the rain and huge lake size puddles i had to go through had anything to do with it but im happy now
Still haven't got round to doing the fan or cam shaft seal due to the weather
hopefully the weather clears up next week, running out of oil
The mpg has gone back up too, probably my great driving haha, got 29mpg last tank
big improvement on the 15.7 i got last time i filled up haha
