Admittedly I could've written that post a bit better, it's not as complex as I think I made it sound.
This would have been better...
To use any aftermarket cat-back you need one of the following to replace the OEM H22A8 pre-cat system:
OEM 4G 2.2 UKDM mani/dp/cat
OEM 4G 2.2 JDM mani/dp/cat
OEM 5G 2.2 UKDM 97-98 spec mani/dp/cat
OEM 5G 2.2 JDM mani/dp/cat
Aftermarket mani/dp/JDM cat*
Custom cat
If you mix and match any of those the lengths wont be right and you'll have issues. Although this is all just regurgitated knowledge, @Merlin knows this stuff and I'm sure will put me wrong if anything is incorrect. Obviously if you go for a full custom system then things will be different.
*I'm not 100% on this but I think all aftermarket systems were designed with the JDM cat length in mind.

Depends on who has one and what price they set for it tbh. Not seen a complete kit come up in a while but seen plenty on breakers on eBay. I think the last complete kit I saw was up for around the 200 mark. If you're patient you might grab the kit in parts for less. There are aftermarket options but the majority you'll find will be replicas for the 5G so just be prepared for a bit of work to get them to fit properly. Mugen reps seem to be a common one for this.
