BUMP. I need another dizzy.
But one that works this time. Postman ruined the last one.
TD89U. MUST have 9 pin wiring harness.
Must be working since i think my internal TDC/CKP sensors are fubarrd.

On ukdm and jdms they are in the dizzy that's why it has 9 wires instead of 5. Atrs and usdm 5th gens are next to the crank pulley.BMCC wrote:The TDC/CKP are not in the dizzy they are down by the crankshaft pulley. The CYP (cylinder position) sensor is in the dizzy though.

So you should be able to alter the base timing on a UK 5th gen then if these sensors are in the dizzy? I'd be interested to know if that is the case.RattyMcClelland wrote:On ukdm and jdms they are in the dizzy that's why it has 9 wires instead of 5. Atrs and usdm 5th gens are next to the crank pulley.
On Lings though when I put in my reg it comes up with this in the oil pump part: 43,44,45 looks to me like these sensors.

Maybe it is JDM only?

Are you 100% sure on this Ratty, its opposite to what I always understood. But obviously I've never owned a 5th gen (dodged that bullet!RattyMcClelland wrote:On ukdm and jdms they are in the dizzy that's why it has 9 wires instead of 5. Yes its listed there but if you go to the price list you cant buy it because its not available or ODB2 5th Gens and JDMs.
I dont have the wiring harness for it. Iv have looked and it wasnt there when i removed the engine.nucleustylzlude wrote:

Im certain the TD89U dizzy has them. There are 3 sensors in the dizzy.
I can fix my broken postman dizzy by swapping the wired over so i shouldnt need a new dizzy.
Anyway here it is with the coil, ignitor etc removed to reveal 3 sensors.
One visable and the other 2 are inside either side of the cog.

Not a great picture but there are 2 in there with wires comming out.

Alot of the yanks have issues with JDM swaps into their USDMs since they have to extend the wiring down to their crank pulley area.
Anyway i shouldnt need a new dizzy now. Im swapping over the broken plugs and ill see how i get on.
