The capped plugs (if they are ALB related) could be for the device you can plug into the system to bleed it properly. I don't know how it works, but my neighbour (who used to work for Honda) said he would borrow it for me for when I used to have my 3rd gen Aerodeck. I never used it in the end, but I imagine it plugs in somewhere.

Are there any evident non-standard connections/splices in or around the area? Or in the boot, behind the clusters? Yet another Benny bodge do you think?

Oh right, like the old cosworths had an electronic bleeding?
Well i know the rear fog light switch has nothing plugged into it on the dash, and i cant find the wire to go into it.

When i was changing the bulbs, the rear fog lights and i think the reverse lights were all disconnected. But the weird thing is not long after i re connected them all, the rear fogs came on?! :S and its not even plugged into the switch? WTF

Other than that i dont think so. I think i may have put the wrong bulb in one of the lights, are all 4 meant to be the 2 filament bulbs? I think i put a single one in on one of the outer lights as thats all i had the other day, its probably that because i only noticed after i changed it it was really dim.

Clutch Finally replaced and put back in! such a struggle though  last time i decide do that on the drive!
When Benny sold me the car he said that it was the release bearing that was noisy so i assumed it was that. Well il let the pics do the talking:

Image
(i lost a couple of the springs when it all fell out and @jjmartin349571 took one )

The plate had literately self destructed when I was driving :( that probably explains the noise if the plate was falling apart. I should've taken a comparison pic with the new one as the broken one looks so flimsy and weak next to the new one, same with the cover, all the fins are really thin compared to the new one :/ The release bearing was the only thing working fine!

There's also loads of stuff missing :S Theres supposed to be a mount/support bar for the top of the engine that bolts to the bulkhead that isn't there, I have no idea where im going to find one though :/ a couple of bolts are missing from another part, well loads of odd nuts and bolts are missing so im going to have to put it on the ramp when its mobile at work and replace them all.

Got to put all the driveshafts etc back in, connect everything and fill the gearbox up and see if she works and do some adjusting :L

Just like to say a big thanks to @jjmartin349571 for all your help, would have got nowhere if you hadn't of come over :L

I thought I'd take a few pics of the dodgy sump i got sent, the small dot where I've drawn the arrow is the hole :/

At least i got a full refund in the end. Not sure what to do with this, beyond repair so will collect some more scrap and weigh it in or throw it lol.

Once shes all back together and cleaned up il take a pick of the rocker cover etc, doesnt look too bad now its on :D

I'd say "unbelievable!", but it's just not anymore!

Nice going finding the source of the problem and fixing it :)

Good luck with the hunt for the missing fixings... Can't you just rob them from JJMartin's? ;-)

No worries Rob, I'm just glad I could help!

Haha yeah was a proper wtf moment when we got the box off and had a look at the release bearing which was fine... Then we looked at the clutch  all 3 rivets holding the clutch body together had let go and it had just come apart :( still, the clutch that went back in was held together by 4 rivets and looked stronger so hopefully Rob won't be doing any more gearbox bench presses in the near future, touch wood!

As for the fixings, like I said the other night I'd use Lings' website to get the bolt sizes then buy them online a bit cheaper. I found a website that do metric fine fasteners when I was replacing my castle nuts, I'll dig the link out ;)

For the bar that supports the top of the block I'm not too sure where you can find one of them... I'll have a think!

At any rate I look forward to seeing the car running mate :) let us know how you get on today!

Oh God, I've kept quiet up till now, but that's bloody shocking to hear the list of things wrong with it now!

Sorry dude, but defo +rep to jj for helping and to you for sticking with it. It is/will be worth it.

As for the missing mount, I'd say either used from the state's is your best chance, or if jj can measure his, could @mudgey perhaps help drawing it up and getting a copy made? :? He's certainly the custom engine mount king of LG! :D

Or try Hondaboy, he may have some O.E. spares hanging around, if they're the same as 3g's
