It probably helps but tbh on a public road you can't drive as hard to feel the difference ;)

Not much use for me then, mainly suburban driving, I'd only consider them if they were an added safety feature, as for upgraded brake parts etc. And I quite like originality...

That sounds like a challenge to me!

On the subject of what they do though, I understand it's all about keeping the suspension aligned whilst cornering?? I seem to recall somebody put a nice diagram of it up at some point, but I think the thing to take away is it reduces the flexing in the body by bracing the big gappy bit between the strut mounting points which would otherwise allow the mounting points to move slightly in relation to each other and presumably in turn slightly alter the suspension geometry :)

Plus they look the shiznit 8-) that's why I would want one

but doesn't the 4ws concept overcome some of the steering geometry issues, unsprung weight etc....

The brace is just stopping the chassis from flexing basically, and seeing as your struts are mounted to the chassis at one end it reduces unwanted movement in them too as a result. I should add this is just my basic understanding, I in no way profess to be an expert

As JJ mentioned, linking the two suspension points with a rigid bar will reduce the area of deformation, so less flex is seen overall = more rigidity.

Agree with merc.
It's not just about stiffening the chassis up though, all of these sort of mods (braces, polybushes etc) help to isolate the suspension itself, thereby allowing it to do it's job better and also giving you greater control of your setup (if you have coliovers or similar.)
