I got the short shift adaptor installed today, thanks @ADS1 i presume i have done it right? :?

Image

It has shortened the throw quite a bit but it does make 1st and 3rd a little notchy. i quite like it so far but time will tell if i keep it in or not! will have to mod my spare stick surround soon.

Anyone got any tips for cleaning up the gunk around the shifter?

Glad you got it fitted ok mate. Yea, it does make first gear a bit notchy, especially on cold. It's not too bad tho if I remember rightly.compared to the cost of a proper short shifter, it's quite good value for money.

Exactly! first isnt too bad as you dont tend to need to be able to shift fast into it, 3rd is a bit more of an issue, but its not really as bad as i was expecting!

its strange as the lude it came off it was sat on nicely, but its really out on mine. would it be anything to do with the fact it came off a ukdm and mines a jdm? i wouldnt have thought fixings like that would be any different.

I think JDM and UKDM have different style bumper bars, but can't see why that should affect fitment at all.

they do have different bars but only in that jdm ones are only there to hold the bumper while uk ones provide crash protection

Well the main problem is where it sits under the boot lid. it sits fine under the lights and lines up along the sides of the car and the arches as you can see on the pictures, but what you cant see is under the bootlid where it would secure, it about half an inch or so gap. looking closer at @H22a Lude's photo, it looks like he has some sort of adaptor attached? the black bar along the top?
