Is it normal to have a little bit of oil in the inlet manifold? Is this due to leaky oil stem seals?
Should have some more parts turn up today, OEM headgasket, ARP Stud Kit & a new rocker cover gasket. Should hopefully stop it using water and dripping oil down the side of the block! Not looking forward to ripping it all apart, never done a car with a cam chain before!

My crankcase is vented straight to atmosphere... I may have forgot to mention that important piece of information!NafemanNathan wrote:Yeah it's quite normal to see that amount of oil in the inlet ports due to the PCV system. Although when was the last time it was cleaned out (in miles)?

PCV does not induce its own air. It relys on air being forced into it via the induction pipe.

I am not really sure I follow you? Air is never forced into the crank case..?RattyMcClelland wrote:Your PCV system wont really be working if your venting it on the valve cover. Itneeds air forced in via the intake on the valve cover side. I can see you use one of these filter on your cover.
