I'd hope not

I imagine if a person did ever think it was a good idea to put copper slip on a spark plug it would be on the threads, but there's no evidence of copper slip on the thread.
Anyway, old spark plugs aside, the replacement NGK iridiums seemed to have done the trick. No hesitation whatsoever on the way
to or
back from PAW today
And oh yeah, I finally met Rich... He seems all-right
New belts fitted alround, including auxilary belts. Rich thinks the aux belts may well have been originals still and unsure of when the timing belt was done last, but definitely looked to have been a good call on changing it now. At a guess it could have done +60k, so I'm happy with that decision. Definitely lesson learnt from last time
I'd also asked Rich to attempt to remove the lower manifold heatshield bolt if he fancied it, which had rounded and I couldn't remove for love nor money. I think he may well have regretted his desicion after it sheered off, then when removing the entire manifold, the manifold/downpipe studs sheared as well

(I think that's how it went). Anyway Rich came through as always and sorted the lot and fixed me up with a fresh new non-corroded lower heat shield bolt

Now I can remove it again and tart up as part of my engine spruce.
I had enjoyed the two hour drive up to PAW, but for the whole journey at the back of my mind, there was a little voice saying
"please don't snap, please don't snap" (It would have been typical) Also I had to squint a lot as it was so damn bright today

Needless to say the journey back home was excillarating!
Thanks again Rich, it was a pleasure to have met you finally. And see you soon
PS. Hope Simon left you some of the brownies
