Tri-Y Exhaust header discount (H-Tune)

Post by Froidas » Thu Dec 05, 2013 3:58 pm

Here's what I ran into while looking for an exhaust header.

Discounts are for different items each day. Today - exhaust headers. I think, 342 pounds (after "first buy" discount code) is quite good:

Maybe this will help somebody.

Interesting. Do you think they'd do something suitable for my Gen3 H22 conversion?

Nice spot! Also this one...

Which is confusing, because it says it's for H22 swaps, but on the vehicles page it lists BB4 and BB6!

EDIT:
That's a good price BTW. They're both £339 shipped direct from PLM in the US, but that would then be plus import taxes on arrival, making it over the £350 H-Tune is offering them for atm.

I guess clearance is your problem, so maybe this one would be better? But I don't like 4 to 2 pipe design in this one. It should be 3 + 2 and 4 + 1, to divide gas flow evenly:

Apparently they'll all fit. Cross members may need to be notched and in some circumstances they may hang quite low on conversions, especially if lowered.

They prove to give good gains though. The Tri-Y proved to make more power than a genuine Bisimoto and genuine RMF on a fair conditioned test on a tuned engine (Only about 1 or 2 bhp in it, but still).

It'll fit, I had a PLM tri Y on my 5g. Needs a custom pipe to the cat (this is the case for all installs of them tho), some notching of the sub frame and also relocating of the o2 sensor / unbolting & removal of an additional subframe brace which I don't think does a lot anyway IIRC

Well I'm not worried about the cat side of things, as I don't currently have one fitted & don't need one either; being a 1990. It's just clearance that will be the issue. So don't know what my best option is tbh. And I don't like the 4-2 design either.
