Hey Johnny! Glad to have you back! :D Gearbox and rear calipers aside, I reckon you shouldn't have much trouble firing her back into life. I've heard of H22's that have been stood for 3 years plus come alive on the first turn of the key, so fingers crossed for you :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, happy marriage :D

Congrats. Apart from the brakes I'm sure the car will be fine after sitting for a while.

Yet another large gap in my updates but...

The gearbox is back in 8-) She's only been on axle stands for 30 months

Double oops was when I realised after lifting the box into the engine bay that I'd forgotten to put the thrust bearing back in, but that was easily solved in 15 minutes of swearing.

Image

New flywheel fitted

Image

Clutch refitted (after shearing off a brand new Honda bolt - which they made me pay to replace even after I'd told them I was tightening with a torque wrench - bastards!)

Image

Managed to find the gearbox under a pile of rubbish in the garage! Little bit dirty

Image

Same gearbox after a few hours with some degreaser and the wife's steam cleaner - might need to buy her a new one, or at least rent another to steam clean the steam cleaner haha

Image

Decided that since I'm not getting younger I was going to use the engine crane to lift it back in this time round!! If anyone needs to borrow an engine crane it's sitting in my garage ;)

Image

Gearbox back in and starter motor refitted. Happy days!

So, next step - I've just picked up 2 new drive shaft oil seals, they'll go in over the weekend along with drive shafts and rebuilt CV joints. Although I haven't rebuilt the CV joints yet, and I'm still to recondition the suspension parts. Busy weekend for JB!

More worrying is I've got rust starting in a lot of places. Seriously, she's not looking healthy. I need to get her running again ASAP so I can decide whether the rust is worth treating - I'm at the point now that if she doesn't fire up after a few weekends of tinkering (I'm not expecting miracles!) she may be off to the big scrapheap in the sky :(

Fingers crossed for the piratelude

Good on you for the recent progress.

You know the rust is worth sorting ;-)

Look forward to seeing it running again! :D
