1997 Honda Prelude SiR BB6 - £1500 no offers

Post by braziers » Wed Oct 23, 2013 7:32 pm

For Sale: 1997 Honda Prelude SiR (JDM Import)

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Mileage: 119,834 (mixture of km and miles, explained below)

Description: Reluctantly, my new job role means I'm going to be commuting longer daily and, as reliable as the Prelude is, means I can no longer run a project daily, or insure another car to keep it, which means it has to go.
I picked it up on July 31st this year. I bought it knowing it needed some minor bits done here and there.
Since then, it has had a number of things done, as follows:

- Both rear arches cut and fully replaced, along with both sills cut and replaced. This was all done by my local bodyshop (Chelmsford Accident Repair Specialists) who I have been using for years.
The job they did was brilliant. All the new bodywork has been painted and looks like new. This includes both rear quarter panels and sills, boot panel and passenger side door, as this was replaced with an entirely new door.
99% of pin dents were also sucked out by the bodyshop.
- All 4 discs and corresponding pads have been replaced with new OEM replacement items.
- Drivers side handbrake cable was replaced with a new item as the old one was worn.
- Exhaust rubber hangers were replaced due to being worn.
- Red Mats were added to the interior to complete the Red Interior.
- Ignition and all door locks/barrels have been replaced as the original ignition barrel was very worn. All work perfectly.
- Gauges fully converted to read in MPH and clock over in miles for mileage. Original gauges were still KMH gauges with an aftermarket MPH fascia on the Speedo. As a result previous mileage has been recorded in miles for MOT's, but I have checked and tested the gauges and they 100% clock over in KM.
Original mileage on the car was 115,697 KM, which equates to 71,890 miles. The new MPH gauges came with 117,913 miles on them (can prove with photos), and they now sit at 119,834 miles. This means overall the car has done 73,811 miles. This will rise very slightly (around 50-60 miles) as I have to use it tomorrow for work and then after that it won't be moving!
- Oil change, oil filter change.
- Dash wiring for headunit re-wired. The previous owner had cut and spliced all the wires and hard-wired a headunit in place, which didnt work. I have reverted it back to a normal ISO plug fitment so, unless your fitting a Honda Headunit, means you won't need to buy an adapter!

Overall, it is now a very nice example of a rare car! It has some stone chips on the front bumper along with some slight spiderwebbing, but ultimately what car doesn't of this age, and a few odd small marks elsewhere, but nothing major at all.
All the electrics work, mirrors/windows/HVAC/rear de-mister/wipers. It has the Automatic Climate Control fitted. It has the full red interior. JDM centre cup holders.
It comes fitted with the smaller Spoiler with LED Brake Light, but I also have the larger optional Spoiler which will be included in the sale. Also included with the car will be a set of Motegi Side Skirts I recently picked up for £100, OEM Fog-Lights (fully working, only removed as I prefer the look with the blanker panels), a rare Gathers CD/EQ player, Brand New Original Honda Access Prelude Catalog and the original gauges to prove mileage. I also have the original bumper to throw in to, although it does have a crack in it along with some random holes.
The only bad bits are the typical H22 5th Gear Crunch, which only happens at high revs or high speed. Other than that, as I have mentioned there are a few odd marks/stone chips body wise, and there is slight wear on the drivers seat bolster.

It was MOT'd at the start of September, so has an MOT until September 2014, and is taxed until the end of February 2014.

Price: I'm going to let it go for well under what I paid for it initially and have spent on it over the last 3 months.
I'm asking a FINAL PRICE of £1500 firm, no offers for the car and the other parts/goodies I have for it.
