Wheel bearing

Has anyone had any experience changing a wheel bearing? Mine has started vibrating alot i was just wondering how much roughly this would cost or if its possible to do myself?

Front or rear? They are not the same.

Front are cheap (parts wise) rear are expensive.
Rear are pretty easy to do, but you need a decent quality socket set and big long extension to overcome the locking flat on the hub nut.
Haven't got experience of doing front ones on a lude.

EDIT: is it definitely the wheel bearing? Not something simple like a buckled wheel/balance weight come off the wheel, or brakes, or suspension/steering bush/balljoint?

Never changed one on prelude but done plenty of others. Principals are the same. Either slide hammer hub assembly off,, or whip knuckle/hub assembly off, knock around the knuckle and insert punch into fastener bolt holes and knock round each one until bearing becomes relieved. Or just take knuckle to garage and let them get it out, insert new one. Sorry for my poor grammer (long night shift)

If you decide to get it down at a garage, don't use Honda. They wanted £360+VAT to do mine (rear).

You can get a third party wheel bearing kit (paid £90 for mine, but that's a 5th gen), then take it to your nearest decent indy and it's about a hour's job, so whatever they charge for labour.

Its the rear drivers side and how would i find out if its something else?

Jack the back of the car up, take the wheels off, give all the linkages and bushes a good inspection and feather with a pry bar looking for any excessive play and wear. Then spin hubs and "Shake" them and "rock" them checking for any play. You will have to trust your gut but you will know if the bearings are worn. Next check the top bushes and washers on the upper suspension mounts and check for excessive movement. If your in doubt take it to your nearest tyre place and get them to check.

Also make sure you support the car adequately with jack stands before getting under there

You will probably find it easier to check the bearings and suspension components for wear/wobble, with the wheel still on (easier to grab and gives you more leverage).
