TYPE S For Sale

Post by PHIL88 » Sat Sep 28, 2013 9:04 am

Hi All,

I I have regretfully put my Type S up for sale, changes in my job now mean i'm doing a hell of a lot more miles and the prelude isn't the ideal car for it.

I've owned the car for 18 months, it's taxed until November and the MOT runs out end of January

Good Points:
Greddy front bumper, Fujitsubo exhaust (just had a new pipe put on it). Drives very well VTEC kicks in when it should in every gear. I still have the original Type s exhaust if somebody wants. Brake calipers were replaced on the left side of car front and back. New discs and pads on rear of car start of the year. Good tyre tread all way round. Ball joints were doen on car earlier this year. Still have the original manual and service book (all in Japanese)

Bad Points:
When i first had the car there was a nasty knocking noise from the engine. When i bought the car i was given another engine as the guy was going to change the engine himself but never gt round to doing it. I changed the engine over like for like (so now all good). when i stripped down the other engine No. 4 piston was scored all way round as was the barrel. i plan to hone it all out and replace the piston when i have time. But the car now has an engine that works absolutely fine (so bad and good point there). It does mean i now have a spare Type S Vtec engine if anybody wants details

The paint work is not the best however the car is nearly 18 years old so was never going to be. When washed it scrubs up well but don't expect showroom finish. On the roof and on the left rear quarter there are two scuffs to the paint. From what i can make out somebody has tried to machine polish the car but cut into the paint (maybe wrong)

The interior although clean does have a couple of issues from where people in the past have appeared to have stuck things on the dash (Phone cradles etc) this has warped some of the plastic in places

The rear window was smashed when previous owner had it and so was replaced however during the time water got in and damaged the carpet slightly

Just trying to be honest about the appearance of the car as the pictures show it in a better light than it probably is.

The bushes are being done this week as they've started to squeak.

The car is reading out 120,000 at the moment however the vast majority of this is in Kilometers as it wasn't till i changed the engine and wiring loom over in December that it started reading Miles.

Car is located in Dudley so message me if you want to view it. It's currently being stored at my father in laws workshop so please let me know in advance if you want to view so i can arrange it.

I'm looking for £1750 ONO for the car. If you have any questions just let me know.

I've got pictures but can't seem to upload at the moment so will try again this afternoon.

Hi Guy's,

Sorry had internet probs at home Sky router went down :( at work today so will upload pics at lunchtime hopefully.

The engine was another Type S as far as im led to believe. THe guy i bought it off was gona to take the original out and pt this one in. Is there a definate way i can tell and i'll confirm? I just the used the loom that came with it as the one that was on the car looked a little butchered (lots of tape). I still have all the original loom and Engine (which is in bits waiting for repair)

ATTS is all working as far as i can tell haven't had anything happen to suggest otherwise. Is there a particular way i could drive the car to double check? its been driven to wales plenty at non sensible speeds and its never had a moment

Thanks
