Yep, you read that right, there is a collection of Chevys from the 50's, 60's and 70's that are brand new being auctioned off. Part of a collection from an old dealership, many of these cars have no more than a dozen miles on the clock, and many still have the plastic covers on the seats still.
They are being auctioned off next week, but ever since the auction was announced, people have been going crazy over seeing these cars, so much so that security has had to be completely overhauled at the storage site for these motors!!
So have a gander through, enjoy the sights, and maybe have a cheeky bid or two!!

Some good stuff there.
I could be tempted by an early Studebaker Champion or one of the 1960s Impala 2-dr hardtops. And so many trucks; perhaps a 58 Chevy Viking or the 1947 Dodge Pickup. That said, I did manage a few thousand miles in a '57 Fairlane, so the 1959 model on offer could serve me well as a reminder of good times.
Oh, so much choice, so little money ...

Article about it.
Basically the original dealer just sounds like a prick to me... I just don't get it. Ok the 25 stored under cover were a good investment, but as for the rest? "New model come out? ok although this showroom version is worth thousands, I'll just stick in a field and leave it to rot for 60 years"

EDIT:
It is an amazing collection though.
Some of the showroom memorabilia stuff is interesting and will be a great buy for enthusiasts.
Auction descriptions are absolutely dreadful, completely random rambling nonsense really. It's like they've been written in a foreign language and through google translate 15 time over before ending up in 'american english'

And this:
"This car will be removed from grounds and hauled to fenced area at Buyer's Expense. "
So it's been stored inside for decades but as soon as you buy it at huge expense, we'll drag it out and dump it outside until you collect. WTF?!
Havent gone through it all yet (IE8 doesn't lie the website) but s far the red 63 or blue 65 impala, 66 Belair sedan would probably be my pick of the bunch, though I expect Lisa would love the Corvette

Isn't this what boss hog used to drive? (but in white and either pink or red interior, obviously)

Nope, Boss Hogg drove a white 1970 Caddy DeVille convertible. The cop cars were late 70's Plymouth Fury, 7th gen models, which were similar to the Monte Carlo of the same era.

Ah well, it was asking a lot for me to remember american cars that I wasn't that interested in, 25-odd years ago I guess

Haha, as opposed to someone who owns every season of Dukes of Hazzard on VHS and DVD, and even got his handle from the show as well!!
The handle I was given years ago was Crazy Canadian / Crazy Canuck, depending on who was radioing me at the time, as apparently I reminded people of "Crazy" Cooter Davenport from Dukes of Hazzard. Something to do with my cross between genius and redneck engineering ideas (things like putting a cigarette speed boat engine in a car, just because it's a Chevy V8 so therefore will fit in a Chevy muscle car - it did!!) and that I fit the Dixie horns to pretty much every vehicle of mine straight away (even fitted them in the old 4th gen I had!!). Over the years this got shortened in one form or another (Canadian, Crazy, or what y'all know, Crazy C)
