A nail?! :?

It is true that the damage could already have been caused, and rather than fragments of metal it would have just eroded into a paste.

could definitely be salvagable, but of course you need to track it down, which unfortunately is a tricky task to do through a forum

Lol. What forum would you suggest???
Its a knocking from the bottom end and seems like it is consistent all the way along maybe a bit louder on the left side. Bearings must be drokked. Could doing the bearings fix this? Or will it be a waste of time without changing the whole bottom end?

I think it does, but I'm unsure how the knock sensor being disabled affect this situation? All it does is detect rank fuel to stop pinking.

I am pretty sure the knock sensor function works as I had a knock sensor CEL showing on my one. As above, not sure how this is linked to your problems.

i didnt get any lights you see so im hoping it is in really early stage of knock and isnt going to be a new bottom end completely.

The knock sensor, despite the name, wouldn't have anything to do with the bottom end going man. It's a poor name, would be better called 'pre-det warning microphone' but that's too long. Merlin's right, he had a CEL with his spoon ecu and no functioning knock sensor, so it would have come up if it was busted - again though, don't think it would have helped.

Funnily enough it was actually merlins spoon ecu that he has, I don't think it disables it

I used to know this phenomenomenomenomenomenom as 'pinking', rather than knocking. :? Is that a better term to describe the noise?
