Yeah, I'd say the 4th gen price is about right. That 5th gen price is all wrong. That'd be less than I'd expect a second hand cage for a 106 to go for

If you guys are interested here is the 2012 Motor Sports Association regulations on roll cages. I think I will get an approved build as I may compete in the car. For general track day use you dont need an approved cage.

i was going to suggest looking at the msa blue book as a lot of cages are not msa approved. the so called dash friendly cages where they dont have a straight leg at the front because they curve around the dash is the latest they are picking up on, and seen as the prelude has a rather intrusive dash i bet that all the cages that dont go through the dash would fail scrutineering.
depends on what your using it for but try putting an imaginary cage leg down from your dash to floor and getting your leg in and out the car would be a nightmare in a fourth gen

I charge from £250 to fit a bolt in cage depending on whats involved and how many point it is and where the mounts are. a weld in cage on the other hand i charge from £600 for fitting. cage prices have gone through the roof over the last few years but that reflects the increase in steel prices, your average bolt in cage 3 years ago was about £400 thats more like £700 now.
a weld in cage costs a similar amount but the fitting charge is a lot more because theres far more work involved.
a weld in cage puts far more strength into the car aswell but if you write it off you cant transfer the cage over to another shell where as a bolt in if you stick it head on into the armco you can.
you can't put a price on safety but unfortunately it doesn't come cheap.

It's not that easy to get good pictures of it but I tryed




They use a Cnc machine to bend everything so I assume they can make cages to send to you, I can find out if you like?
