My mum had a Xsara estate for a number of years. I lost count of the times I re soldered the wires that fed into the boot lid. I'm sure Citroen designed the lid and seal arrangement to act like a guillotine on the wires deliberately!jjmartin349571 wrote:All things will fail eventually I guess. My Xsara was rapidly failing faster than everything else thoughthe door looms may as well have been bone china. To be fair the engine was still running nicely at almost 150k - kind of wish I hadn't sold it now
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Update. New battery all ok. Wiring was still bad though.
Two hours later I have found the dodgy earth and fixed it. Almost resorted to a new earth shortcut but decided to get to the root of it and pleased that I did.
So happy now. This time next week I should be out enjoying driving it again. Maybe even time to meet some of you lot in it too!
Just the small task of reassembling the front end of the car now.

I'm going to embarrass myself now and ask what JAE is?!wurlycorner wrote:

Feel like she'd look a bit rubbish in comparison to some of the other ludes though because I haven't really started improving yet so in some areas she looks a bit like a barn find!
Next to the drivers side headlight attached to the inside of the wing there's a white connector block (mine was black and covered in 16 years of greasy dirt). There was a dodgy connection in there. Possibly dirt caused it or I guess more likely it just worked its way loose.
Feeling quite excited now. Booked an MOT for next Friday so just a few other bits to reassemble and ill be away

JAE is the Japanese Auto Extravaganza. 3 day biggest jap car show/pissup of the year. Next Thurs to Sunday, at Wickstead Park in Kettering. We have a stand there http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/honda-p ... t8424.html
Don't worry about what you think of the condition of the car, seriously. I've taken mine when it's had one whole side driven down and with various bits of interior missing. Last year was the first time my ukdm went in one piece
(and the jdm didn't make it)
Some of the cars definitely aren't there for show, just laughs...

Seems like I'm a bit last minute for that..do you think it matters?
I'd love to bring the lude along (subject to MOT pass) so that I could put faces to the names on here and get opinions on what to do with my car next. Normally I wouldn't even consider going to a show by myself but people on here seem quite friendly so it wouldn't be too bad.
On a roll now, just reset the airbag light with a paperclip. Feeling very pleased with myself after today's successes

Last minute doesn't matter at all, that's all cool.
Tickets are available on the gate anyway.

Yep, we'll be a piece of body lemonade to find - we'll all be wearing our professional LG lanyards and clothing!
(who am I kidding on that last one?!
)
But yep, you get a programme/map thing with the ticket and that'll show you where ll the clubs are and you can look it up on the jaw website now. Best to get phone numbers off one of others of us too, just in case?
