Prelude Towbar - Does Anyone Have One?!
This is more a general request, to help out the club!
I am considering fitting a towbar to my Prelude, and then making up a trailer so we can take the kit required to shows easily. The only one available off the shelf at the moment is a Watling Flange type, which is always on view. Ideally I want a detachable one which is hidden away behind the bumper when not in use.
If all goes to plan, I will get the mansion off Ammo, so we will always have a shelter. The trailer will also be big enough to carry a BBQ and generator, plus any other bits required.
Obviously this isn't urgent, and is more of a winter project for me.
Also, does anyone have the skills/equipment to weld up a trailer?!?!

Well im willing to make a towbar for you that can be detached under the bumper and not on show when not required. But I know you do like your type approved stuff
. I did this on my supra because there was nothing available to suit my requirements and not only towed a small trailer full of crap around but my race car all over the country. As for the trailer depending on size it would probably be cheaper to buy a halfords type thing if that was big enough than make one. Im willing to donate to the cause.

Can I tow a prelude on a trailer with a prelude? If so I may be interested in a tow hook too and a full roll cage

I doubt it. Combined weight of towed would exceed tow limit of the car towing it ?!?W1ggz wrote:Can I tow a prelude on a trailer with a prelude? If so I may be interested in a tow hook too and a full roll cage

Definitely couldn't do that, even with a braked trailer.Thebusofwoe wrote:I doubt it. Combined weight of towed would exceed tow limit of the car towing it ?!?W1ggz wrote:Can I tow a prelude on a trailer with a prelude? If so I may be interested in a tow hook too and a full roll cage

It would also look far better from the front without those hideous transit connect headlights..honda-hardy wrote:Gayno you could get a 5th gen. Chop the back end off it. And tow it. At least from behind it will look better than the rear of a 4th gen. Lol
Anyway if you really really wanted me to I could make you a trailer out of a prelude that I just happen to have lying around doing nothing. You could fill it full of crap to tow to the event and then slip the grill in after and turn it into a barbecue. If you really really wanted me too.
