did you follow these steps that i posted in another thread about the same topic paul?
1, release the handbrake and slacken cables back off in car.
2, remove caliper from carrier and wind the piston back in anti-clockwise.
3, wind out the piston a quarter of a turn clockwise, this will expand the piston slightly and reset the cam for the handbrake inside the caliper, make sure the raised lug on the pad is able to be located in the cross slot of the piston.
4, flatten the braking surface of the pads using a piece of sand paper on a flat surface to remove any glazing of the pad and refit the pads to the carrier. ensure the 2 sliders are moving freely too, refit caliper.
5 pump brake pedal 20-30 times
6, operate the handbrake up and down with the button pressed in at least 20 times.
you should then have a reset hand brake.

if pad is uneven, then that suggests the slider pins are siezed, are the pins free?

you must have otherwise only the piston side will opperate. the sliders are what the bolts screw into.paul72 wrote:Plus i have no sliders on the rear

mine was the same
the uneven ware is the caliper sticking m8 not the disc.
there is no lug on any pads, the cross section is for the windback tool only or in my case piston was so siezed a file on its side in the cross grove and twist like hell
had pads on one side with no ware as piston was stuck in, so never came out to push pads and the other side was worn to the rivets as piston was siezed fully out
when the pistons were freeed up the handbrake worked fine
but if the cable is streached you may need new to get the right adjustment.
