Re: Tyre choices
What about for track use only I'd love some r888 but they would set me back 600 which is more than I paid for the car

Iain: Tyre tester seems to be my recent second job yes - turning into an expensive month for our cars! No dollar for buying my usual treats.
Keeping with the theme, anyone tried any of these two, they look like they have good reviews:

Taste is a strange thing. On a different car (Renaultsport) I really didn't like the Eagle F1's. Fantastic grip for braking or sideways but not enough feel and let go a little snappily.nucleustylzlude wrote: ......
- Michelin Pilot Sport 2's (BMW factory tyre) - not great for the money personally
- Bridgestone RE50A's run flats - have a couple on my Mazda and a couple on the front of the BMW - pretty decent tyre
- Bridgestone RE40A's - Had a couple in the past - again a great tyre
Others I've tried:
- Goodyear Eagle F1's - great tyre
The Michelin Pilot Exalto 2's had less grip but were beautifully progressive though. Maybe my favourites.

I have a set of Goodyear Eagle's on the Porka and tbh, they are really great tyres. Big sidewalls on that car so they feel a little bit squashy, but tbh so would anything and most would be very squashy I expect.
Price though.
I have Michelin <something I forget> on the UKDM at the moment. They're also good, no complaints really. Again
price though so I keep wondering what to go for when they need replacing.
I keep swaying towards Toyo's, but I'm not sure...
