Tyre choices

Hello dudes/gays/girls,

I have Rota Torques on my car at the moment. Got them for a real good price and they were almost immaculate.

Here's how they look on the car:

Tyres on the car needs replacing as two of them are below the limit. They are 195/45/16 and as the wheels are 16X7, there is a tiny bit stretch. It doesn't look bad but it's there.

I was hoping to replace all of the tyres. So shall I go for 205/50/16?? To big the tyres a bigger profile to feel the arch up a bit and raise the car as well (at the moment it's scraping everywhere )

My next question, what tyre shall I get? Something 'sporty' but not too hard.

Another question, about spacers. 10mm spacers all round? <- I don't need to have them but just a thought so I can stick them out a bit..

Nitin, you state in the first part of the message 17 inch then you mention 2o5 50 16. Are they 16 or 17. The best tyre I have had are uniroyal rain sport 2. As for spacers, you will need to extend the studs by fitting new ones in the hubs.

My typo.. All tyres are 16.. I put 7 instead of 6. I will edit it now..

Nitin there are only 2 tyre choices IMO. All the others are so so for a daily drive.

Bother are excellent and both are superior at opposite ends of the scale. Rainsports are incredible in wet, ad08 are incredible in the dry. Both are great vice versa.

Get 205/50/16 or 225/45/16

10mm spacers will work fine.

No 205/50 and 225/45 are pretty much the same sidewall size.
The 225/45 are actually 2mm in diameter smaller than 205/50 which is extremely insignificant.

Remever i ran 225/45/16 on my rota slips 16x7s.

I have the Yoko AD08, albeit as 215/45/17's, and concur. I don't usually comment much on tyres without trying others on the same car, but in the dry they seem exceptional, and decent in the wet. Good feel (I'm guessing quite a bit of rubber in them). Great grip laterally and braking/accel. but even then they don't let go too suddenly. Wonderful. (Not sure about life )

They are a must have!

Not too shabby in the wet either.
