That is what the manual says too. Maybe some JDM cars have it in a different location in between the IM and head?Vtecmec wrote:On the lude, the EVAP purge control valve sits on the firewall, so not sure what the point of this is.

Mine has this device and the EVAP valve on the firewall. This must be called something like the fuel pressure solenoid valve? or . something like that.

I'd leave it as is, it looks like the filter has been fitted either for looks or to replace the original broken filter, I would not block it off.paul72 wrote:So is this one of those leave it as it is but maybe block of the mini breather hole

I will be diving head first into my vacuum lines this week and ripping out all EVAP, EGR, IAB lines. If I come across any useful info I will report.
If that isnt the EVAP purge valve what the hell is it because none of the vacuum diagrams show anything in between the fuel pressure regulator and the intake manifold

Yes, nothing on any of the diagrams, or a vacuum connected heater control device (see below). Additionally most JDM ludes are piped differently than the diagram too, with the purge control diaphragm connection going to general vacuum via a t piece to the intake solenoid feed (draw?) rather than the purge control valve as the diagram states. Bizarre.

The pic I showed will be the same, instead of the fuel regulator going straight to the IM, it just sits in line with an electrical connection, maybe to smooth out the fuel pressure?
Reading something in the manual the other day, there are devices that increase fuel pressure just before the aircon is switched on to smooth the transition of the draw by aircon on the system, it could be something to do with that.

The thing that led me to believe that it is the EVAP purge is that it looks the exact same shape and has the same connections as other EVAP purge vales on other honda cars. It must do a similar job.
