I like the new style number plate and badge, looks really smart. Don't give up the work! We've all had bad times with our cars.

if your going to james's meet i can fit new discs and pads for you bud. get them ordered up, just remind me nearer the time so i dont forget my tools.
Thanks for the offer but I'll be sorting them before the meet.

Changing discs and pads is one of the few mechanical jobs I can actually do

Small update.

Managed to sort the front brakes. Spent almost 6 hours doing it but I think they're sorted.

Sticking slides and pads seemed to be the issue. Spent ages looking online on how to remove the slides only for my girlfriend to shout that she just pulled it out  .

Cleaned up all points of contact and re greased the slide (one had some corrosion where the boot wasn't seated correctly so needed a bit of rubbing down).

Car feels like its got twice the BHP from before, sticking brakes are bad mmmm kay.

Well 'Project Cheepskate' has came to its inevitable conclusion and is now a 1.7 diesel Vauxhall Astra

I had only driven it 2 or 3 times since heading back from LLL's national meet, it was costing too much in fuel so hard to justify using it over the MINI. I worked out I was getting 17mpg

I'll still hang about on here (even though I haven't been on much lately) and hopefully see my old car in the new members section.
