I can see where the clip should mount in the metal, but can't line it up. I think there is too much stuff behind it.

I think I know what the squeaking is on the passenger side, I think it is the side skirt, its not as secure as it should be so it is rubbing and causing the irratating noise.

On the drivers side? Yeah I did notice it was a bit loose.
It felt like the sound was coming from a little higher up/further forward, but it's pretty hard to tell.

All those little things you've listed are perfectly do-able, I'm sure you'll manage to get your way through them. Pleased to see the car has gone to another owner that's intent on showing the love to get it back to scratch.

Thanks for the encouragement. They are little things, but they just keep adding up. Noticed a few more things that need sorting last night.

White is nice...when clean.

Anyways, tyres are first up.
Uniroyal Rainsports 2 the best bet from the second tier of tyre brands? I can't really afford to splash out on premium unfortunately.

Yup - you may want to consider the EL ones, that stands for Extra Load and gives a stiffer sidewall. Not to give you too many options, but I also favour Neuton tyres. These can be found on eBay (sold by a Saab specialist called neo brothers) and are made by Yokohama.

If you have a little more cash to spend you might want to look at the Federal RSR's. I am going to get these next time round as they have been getting good reviews as a good fast road and track tyre.
