New MOT Cat regs.. BB4's exempt?

I've had a de-cat fitted to my 1994 BB4 for the last two MOTs.

The tester will protest when you tell him it only requires the non-cat emissions test.
They'll only accept it once they've researched it properly and found no BB4 on their system.

The car does need to have been first registered pre 31st July 1995.

Same and same, and never had an issue (went armed with the flow diagram).

@3rd gen steve is a newly registered MOT tester so he will know the exact regs as he sat his test the other week. Although the guidelines we have seen so far are very clear cut IMO

It doesn't matter as the BB6 is registered after 1995.

Even if it is registered after 1st August 1995 if they can't find it on the system they are forced to put it through at different levels: co <0.5%, HC<200ppm, lambda 0.97-1.03 and fast idle co2 <= 0.3%. The key is that there needs to be an exact match in the database if not then the default applies.

EDIT: Which is exactly the same as the CAT test for the other Preludes DOH!
