Yeah I had a look inside the spare set of mirrors its amazing how much they way with the folding motor and the tilt motor. I think it's the actual metal structure that is the proper weight in them so will look at taking all this out and reattaching the mirror glass somehow. I was gonna weigh it all but just went for it. Ill go to a weigh bridge once I have a lot out and see what I'm down too. I was too busy at work today to do anymore maybe tomorrow

How are you gonna pay for two cars keeping them on the road ?
Well I live round the corner from my work so have hardly any fuel costs and motor trade insurance covers the cars so its really only taxing it that costs me money I also get my mot's for free :)

I had a quite afternoon at work today so me and the lads set about removing some more weight

i then removed the sunroof mechanism this weighs a fair amount

air con removed from behind the dash

we also began removing all the unused cable from insid the car theres hundreds of cable to pull. i filled a carrier bag with wires and that felt like quite a bit of weight.
I've now got my mate with his E46 330 slightly worried as he only has 240 bhp and weighs around 1400kg. So just to make sure im in with a really good chance when we go to coombe im gonna get the LSD box and ATR clutch in along with the flywhel i picked up off ammo it needs a bit of a rub down from where its been in storage.

Ive also got the MOT on thursday so fingers crossed all goes well

Looking good mate, don't forget to remove the clutch damper on the hydraulic line, replace it with the solid ones! I think hel sell them and they maybe on eBay?

Also look into filling the front engine mount to stiffen things up. I've got some sikaflex filled ones cheap if you need it?

Are you just goin to plate over the sunroof?

@106pete where is the damper mate, im a bit unsure what you mean  noob
also@ammo i think he said the fronts mounts had been stiffened already.
Ive fitted a few little bracket to put the roof panel back in for now, im pretty sure i read on here someone was getting a fibre glass or carbon bung made up.

You can buy carbon bungs but is it worth it on a track car? Find a local metal merchant and by a off cut of 1.5 ally for about £15 and rivet it on sealed with silicon or sikaflex, job done ;)

As for the clutch damper just find the slave cylinder on front of gearbox and trace the hose back, it'll be a round block bolted to the driver inner wing, it restricts how fast you ingauge the clutch, causing alot of slip on track that'll wear or damage the clutch much faster!!

I work for the feckers and always wondered what that block was on the clutch line. Mines going to get binned :) Thanks 106pete. Oh and W1ggz, tracker is looking goooood mate, my project is going a very similar route ;)
