I have now finally decided to put the car back on road. :scaredtoss: Just got couple of questions..

The car has been standing still for 5-6m months now. All the brakes are rusted but I didn't worry as I planned to do the ATR brake set up on the car from long ago. I have now got all the front and rear disc/pads etc and also got a Oil, filter and spark plugs so just a small service.

Battery is completely fooked up so will need new battery now. Should I go for a race battery?? as this will be lighter plus I've found one on eBay that is the same price as the OEM spec one. Will this be good choice for someone who only uses the car rarely on the weekends?

There is no MOT, Tax or Insurance on the car at the moment. I will get the insurance done next week. Is it ok or legal to drive the car to the nearest garage to have it's MOT done as I can't get tax on the car without the MOT certificate? If the police stops me I would be ok??

As long as it's insured and booked for an MOT and you drive straight to the garage, you're fine 8-)

Nice to have the S back on the road, with a good brake upgrade I read :)

A race battery. What is your goall ? Racing ? Sightseeing ? If you tuck the battery to the trunk it doesn't matter how it looks. For the weight it is only important when you are racing I think.

In Holland it is legal to go to a garage to do MOT when booked. When you are going to somewhere else, it is illegal.
You have to drive it, because you need MOT to get your taxes paid...

Good luck mate and enjoy !

Edson, I don't intend to race or do any dangerous speeds on the public road because I'm jobby at it..   I just saw that for the price of the OEM battery I can get a light weight one so I thought it would be good as it's lighter.

Ferdie, It was due to lack of funds. It was have the car off the road so I can have enough money for everything else or sell the car. So I chose to wait it out and keep this car..

Soon it will be on the road and I can finally attend some shows and kiss everyone's faces.
