Re: My bb4 lightweight
It doesnt pull when normal driving in fact its near on perfect better than my Mazda. When braking it pulls a little but i put that down to the pads and discs that need replacing, there was an advisory on the MOT - two days ago - saying the front pads were low.

Re: My bb4 lightweight
So after a week of VTEC I better get the jobs done that i've identified so far:
1. New Discs and Pads
Booked in tomorrow at a local garage, PAW quoted but needs doing now as there are some big juddering going on and dont trust them to stop me on the 80 mile trip to PAW
2. 4 x New Tyres (according to one of the tyres on there it was manufactured in 1997!! and all of them are only just legal)
Being changed tomorrow for some mid range rubber
3. Service (Oil & Filter, Plugs, K&N Air Filter)
Going to attempt myself, just waiting on new Magancor KV85's to arrive
4. Timing Belt, Alternator & Power Steering belts change
PAW quoted and will be going there when I can get a day off work
5. Small rust removal on NSR wing, Scratch removal & respray on OSR quarter, Dent removal on passenger door
6. Replace KPH Speed convertor to hopefully fix haywire rev counter
Already purchased from member here and I'm trying to find where the original one is located
7. Replace buggered Half Mast switch
Already purchased from a member here
Once all thats done then I may look into lowering the beast, very tempted by Rich's custom coilovers

Nice to here you're getting on top of everything. And definitely ignore whatever that A-hole told you, so you're definitely right to get the belts done.
I naively bought a lude from him a few years ago, before he became common knowledge on the forums. I didn't post on here before now as I didn't want to dishearten you too much, but I had a long list of things to fix after supposedly buying a minter as well.
Please just carefully check all arches inside and out for filler and bodge fixes. That was the main issue I had, he made a good job of patching up the rust, but it made it's way back through to the surface 6 months after I'd bought her. Again, I don't really want you to worry, but I'd rather you checked so you know now rather than later.
Other than that, she does look great
lol

Re: My bb4 lightweight
Thanks for the encouragement, yep I checked it out for filler when I picked it up plus I've had a bodyshop check it over, hence some time in the bodyshop is needed
Quick update:
Brakes (discs and pads) now replaced - wow what a difference brakes make!
4 x Tyres fitted and again a real difference, she now grips the bends
Half way through a service, had to stop to do some work - dam job getting in the way again!
Booked into PAW on Monday for all Belts to be changed (plus a check over with the 'ludegod' Rich hopefully)
Booked into the bodyshop on the 20th to have the odd bits of rust removed and a part respray
Then its onto the coilovers and a general tart up for Japfest!

Brilliant man, really chuffed it's not proving to be the shed we all feared. Sounds like you dodged a bullet and got a pretty sweet car

Re: My bb4 lightweight
Just got back from a very pleasent drive back from PAW after having all the belts, balance shaft oil seal and hydraulic tensioner changed. Two cups of coffee, a trade of Krispy Kremes and Richy had worked his magic and fitted all the bits and bobs, reset the timing and valve clearances.
Top work by the 'Lude Gods' and the car is running really smoothly.
For those that have read the above thread, Richy also took a close look over the car for me and gave it 'what I would call' a clean bill of health. He also said that judging by the state of the car and some 'tell tale signs' it might (can't truly tell without paperwork) be close to genuine mileage with no accident damage (thank god mine wasnt the front end car people were talking about
) - so in short I think I have dodged a bullet and picked up a good one
Couple of extra things to add to my lit of to-do's but here is the list thus far:
Replace Brake Discs and Pads (done)
Fit Magencor KV85 HT Leads (done)
Replace Air filter with K&N Panel (done)
Replace Spark plugs (done)
Oil & filter change (bought need to get round to it)
Clean EGR valve and VTEC solenoid (cleaner bought, need to do it)
Fit FM Short Shifter (bought)
Fit Skunk2 Billet gearknob (bought)
Fit GAB front strut brace (bought)
Fit Feels rear strut brace (bought)
Refit Half Mast switch (bought)
Replace speedo and Rev counter dials - According to Richy the rev counter is knackered
Replace or repair front bumper - cracked in the middle
Rust fix on driver side front wing and respray rear quarter panel
Refurbish Wheels
Polybush everywhere - One of the rear bushes is a little perished (any excuse!)
Replace DOHC VTEC sticker on rear boot
Get a Lude Generation sticker from Ammo for the rear quarter window (got to look cool with that and +5 bhp)
And finally slam the thing to the floor and attract all the speed bumps!!
I love lists
