steering feed back excessive
Post by blackludevtec » Tue Jun 04, 2013 7:43 am
hi guys getting alot of steering feed back while on rough roads somtimes it feels like the front end of the car is drifting from left to right and feel like im fighting with the car to keep it straight had it on the ramps no play in any ball joints or bushes alignment is spot on to so im thinking the main bushes on the front subframe that hold the radius arm is shot of gone slopy any one else experienced this?

sorry no but if all your joints are solid then get a crowbar on the bushes and see what rotten. you are on the right track i think.

my personal opinion is the rear trailing arm bushes. very common bush to fail.

@sam: imo if it was rear this wouldnt affect the steering at lower speeds as much? you would get the yawing effect but the feedback from the wheel would suggest the front radus bushes as they would be jogging about in there, causing the feedback... maybe?

IMO to cut out the bullshit take the car to a wheel alignment specialist. For ~£40 he'll will tell you exactly where the problem will lie, it might just be needing an actual wheel alignment. First time I took my tack car to get an alignment the guy told me I had a mildly bent radius rod that caused a castor issue (now solved
).
If it were radius rods bushes you would get a lot of play in the arm and this would quickly knacker the ARB drop link.
