While looking through the loft for my record of achievement (need to send copy of college certs for new job)...

Yep, well I know, the other stuff in it is certainly pretty dated/not of any value anymore :D I'd no doubt cringe if I read my personal statement now

And can you imagine what a bloody awful job it is for the teachers to write 100-odd individual reports to go in it each year?

As for the college certs though, they definitely are worth it and that's all I was after, so it's done its job - kept them safe/sound and I knew exactly what to look for (rather than some innocuous envelope somewhere).
so after :? 15 :? years that's 8)
(university cert is on the wall so finding that one was pretty easy too ;) )

As for whether it's important to hang onto them, well that depends what line of work you go into. Lets just say though, when I'm faced with interviewing blokes for a qualified technician role, amongst loads of applicants if I get one that says he's served an approved apprenticeship but can't produce me the paperwork 'and doesn't know if he kept them', I'll take the one who shows some pride in what he's achieved and turns up with all those training certs present and correct (not necessarily in their school record of achievement though, granted  )

nb:ex Forces blokes always have a good file of stuff and letters from their commanding officers

And sorry Donald, you'll have to stay in suspense to see my banana for now - come to JAE and I might unleash it in public! :o

Wtf? Where did you get one of them?!

I have an inflatable bottle of Smirnoff red somewhere too (not quite as much fun as the real thing but seemed cool to nab it from the club  )

I never really thought to keep my GCSE or A level certificates until I ended up going back to college. Had to go back to the original college and ask for replacements and that was a ballache.

After that I thought I wont need these and stuffed them in a box somewhere...

...then oh jobby uni application why do you need to know so much

Had to go find them again.

Then I was sorting through some boxes of stuff at my dad's a few weeks back... ended up finding the original certificates I thought I'd binned/lost.
