Sorry nitin, don't agree with this.
Accidents do happen (as annoying and painful as that is to be on the receiving end), but this guy owned up when he could easily have driven off like so many do these days. As such, he doesn't deserve to get screwed and should instead be treated fairly in return.

I agree with Iain. I'm asking for £50 though as they are hard to come by individually and that is the kind of price breakers charge for such an item.

Yeah; likewise. Why be honest if you're gonna get tucked up for it? It's bad enough when the insurance co. wants £400 for what could basically be done with a tube of touch-up. And then there's these whiplash ponces...

I do wonder if it's the shit visibility in modern rubbish (plus an inexperienced driver) that is making this sort of thing more common? I once pulled a door rubbing strip off my 127 on a wire rubbish bin, squeezing it along a pavement because the road was blocked by a crane. But that was the only damage & it clipped back on. You cannot be that accurate in modern stuff with fat sides & no windows.

Assuming I can get the correct shade of sex grey pearl and I won't need to spray the wing. I can paint half the bumper blending the clear in the the number plate area. All lights out, plate off, lip off and repair the filler crack too in that lip.

£150 inc vat. I can write up an estimate for you and scan.

Yep, visbility on modern cars is bloody awful.
Miles back from the windscreen, which starts somewhere up near the gods thanks to the MASSIVE dashboard and the most bulbously shaped bonnet which means it's impossible to know where the front of the car actually is, surrounded by side windows that start somewhere high above the top of your head (even if if you're 6ft4) and when you try and look out the back you see the rear window starts even higher and the C-pillars are the size of an office block!

Just crap crap crap...

(Great sales tactic though, so you pay extra for the parking assist system that you wouldn't need if you could see out in the first place  )

Yeah my Dad drives a Lexus IS250 and the visibility is dire! It just feels claustrophobic inside, yet at the same time you feel dwarf'd as everything is so high! :?

Down the line, I might take you up on a full front bumper respray @RattyMcClelland when you're down in St A, could you PM me a cost when you get chance?

Ah crap bud, what's with the sudden attack on all these ludes lately!

At least the guy was man enough to do the right thing. Hope it gets sorted asap. Ratty's offer sounds a good shout.

Yeah I agree with whats been said. He was good enough to own up, he could have just drove off. So I'm not going to do him over in the price. Karma and all that

Ratty PM'd
Nath. Cheers for the offer, thats really good of you. But someone else has offered me one too. Rather have that one than do you out of your own light that you will need later on.
