Open Profile Thread - COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS?

Post by CrunchyAdams82 » Mon May 13, 2013 5:02 pm

Hello All,

I thought I'd start a thread for members to add a photo of themselves, and a mini profile if they like. This will help everyone to get to know each other by name & face, and make it easier to meet up with other Luders in your area, as well as spotting your mates easily at upcoming events. :Hello:

Post your profile here if you like:

For a basic template, go here:

If people like this idea, please post away!

If people think it's no good, please let me know.

If I've forgotten something, please say.

If the moderators like the idea, but would prefer to compile a thread themselves, I'll delete it.

If I've done bad, I'm sorry.

Just thought it would be a good point of reference to have all of this in one thread, for people to browse through at their own leisure.

It's also easy to update/edit your details, or change your photo at any time.

Hope it helps!

Don't apologise, it's new ideas that push the club forward, and being an open club we welcome all ideas!

We do however already have a "What do you look like/Social media" thread however it doesn't have the mini-profiles as you're suggesting.

Will let this run and see how it goes :)

Yeah, sorry. I know these sort of things are already about, I just thought in light of the recent 'hot topic' regarding people not knowing who each other were at Japfest, it may be worthwhile putting together a simple thread where everyone could just look through & see everyone else's names and pictures one after another. It would help promote a closer knit community I think, and certainly help noobs like me get to know everybody. Was just an idea.

Always open to ideas, however most of this info is already in the built in user profile. I click on your username in the left and find the same info. One field missing is real name, this could be added optionally quite easily. The system might be able to grab a picture from face-book if this is filled in.

One useful feature that we don't use is the built in functionality for calendar / event attendees listing which helps track who is and who is not going to events quite nicely.
