A guy on ClubVR4 had some polo shirts made up for the recent 10th anniversary meet, using this design:

Something similar for the different generations would be cool.

Reading this I honestly wonder what ideas and concepts of 'inclusive', 'breaking down barriers' and 'non sectarian attitude' you might have missed in my original post jonja. I fear all of it.

I'm trying to break down the social and personal barriers that exist between people who otherwise, online, know each other quite well. The idea is to provide a cheap, if not next to free, way to identify any member on the club stand instantly. This will help members who have 'just popped over to say hi'' but not brought a car, to approach other members and know they are in good company and also help with the terrible memory we all suffer from. drawing lines between 4th and 5th is racist imho as the banner shows all gens. The idea was to give a level field for everyone to meet everyone else, not create sectarian enclaves.

did they have a way to put a name on there at the stand?

I think a shed load of lanyards would be better than a roll of stickers, obviously. But w will need to send stock to the 4 corners of the country so it could get expensive.

Whatever the solution we have an issue that needs one, fast. Show season is upon us and we need to know who is who because I know even I was shy my first couple of meets and I still find it hard to remember some members 'real' names...

On a more serious note I think like the idea of the stickers but I think people may prefer the lanyards depending on price

vista print does business cards for next to nothing, im sure club funds can stretch to buying them as surely its pointless having funds sat there doing nothing.
get lude generation logo printed on them with a space for user name and real name to slip into the lanyard and these can be given out and filled in at the meeting so no need to post everywhere.
i would also like to see an option for clothing but its just my opinion.

As a new member I think this is a great idea. So @lewd lude lover, well done for starting the topic. The fact that people like myself who haven't been members long and the others who havent actually met, its a good way for people to start talking once they are at meets. In my opinion, start small and work up. Lanyards are a great idea and then once everyone has them, if people like the idea of clothes, hoodies, tshirts ect can (at a price) look into it after. well there will be barrier and it doesnt matters if you have t shirt or not

for example at japfest , me and ailfenergy spoke only with marty cause we know him from dudley meets, other lude owners were in their circle , and it would be weird if we would just popped in

it would be better if any unknown lude drives next to other ludes, then users who know each other, would walk to unknown guy and at least had an conversation about lude with that guy who doesnt know anyone

maybe i wrote it wrong, but you got the idea

its easyer for a group of people to walk to some person and talk, than a one guy goes to the group

you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it and no matter what you have there will always be that first ice breaking moment, shaking, sweating, legs like jelly and then..... well that went ok, what a friendly bunch.
collecting your lanyard at the show means everybody has to introduce themselves for that first time to the guy handing out the lanyard and gets to meet somebody to break that ice and then its done.

sorry buddy but i disagree. this is not how people are in real life senarios. anything that lets someone on the outside know who you are helps that person come over and introduce themselves. if you had had your name on display people would have probably come up to you to introduce themselves. I would have for sure

I think the memory aid factor cannot be stressed enough though.... You meet someone sound three times over two years and you have a bond but that doesn't mean you remember their given name when you see them 20m away at the other end of the stand... easy to see name badges will allow people to scope out what they need to know on the walk over

That was in response to the question of LG clothing with the different cars on.

The guy put up a thread a couple of months before the event, and about 60 shirts were made up - all with forum name/real name on the sleeves.

Obviously - the cheap answer is a lanyard etc, the cheaper option is to realise that mostly, nobody knows anybody, so just walk up and say hi!
