Damn dude that sucks! Same thing happened to me in a Mini, I had to drive down the road like Ace Ventura!
If you can't afford a respray, vinyl wrap the roof. ...or make a convertible Prelude ;)

That can be sorted mate, could have been MUCH worse too! (I know that doesn't help much :( )

Not sure if its a help, but I'm sure Rich (PAW) removed the roof of his lude during the strip down etc, might be worth a look to see if that's a viable option :?:

cheers guys maybe it is fixable but im questioning myself as whether i have the comitment to see this through - the car needs a respray and a 2.5" backbox so im already into spending more money than i can justify at the moment............its halfway towards being a track car and maybe thats the direction it should be going in albeit with a different owner...its either that or spend a lot of money to get it to showroom condition :?
I could have lived with it as was prior to the cf bonnet beng smashed but not now. I do however reserve the right to change my mind at anytime :)

Try not to be so disheartened. The dent in the roof makes little difference in the long run, the car does need a respray but the dent could be sorted at that point.

Although you have to look at the economics of it, £800 - a grand for bodywork or buy a new Lude in better condition for not much more.

Could you step away from a Prelude though? Its in your blood 8-)

if it had been an oem hood that id left unlatched then the car would have been a write off

hahaha true!! ..but I wonder if an OEM hood would flip up? I've driven on the catch for ages watching my bonnet jiggle up and down on the motorway. Did it come unhooked or did the catch rip off of the carbon hood?
