Better than the Saxo, too.wurlycorner wrote:AXs were very lighweight, down to having glass fibre bonnets and boots, so I wouldn't be at all surprised about the panels being thin too. That lightweight is what made them so (comparatively) fast, economical and well handling compared the ford/vauxhall crap offerings of the time though?
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Subaru legacy estate or the impreza estate if that's more your cup of tea?

Bump this up again. The golf has more holes than swiss cheese so it's time to replace it
Budget is £2k but I have a bit extra if needed for the right car

- Diesel Estate
Manual
Boot big enough to get a mattress in
Lots of toys
MPG of 45 to 50+
Something that's not £500 tax a year
Needs to look reasonably decent as it will get minor mods as having a standard car isn't me

Lisa and I never had any trouble with the space in the back...
How fat are you?
Seriously though, how many people are you wanting to get across the back on that mattress? (or is that not the sort of question I should be asking
)
They look drokking good with just standard oem option bits too;

Speaking of which, the cheesegrater grille and HID headlights for the front are a must IMO;

Or you can go more extreme etc.

There are loads of tuning/modding bits out there for it.

Go and try one out. I'm pretty sure a single mattress would fit between that though.
