The bonus with the fifth gen being designed around the headlights is the fact its made the inside a bit bigger to the point where you can actually carry people In the back that have legs

The good thing about having large headlights is they have their own gravitational pull, that pulls birds towards the car....

4th gens just don't do that.

On a serious note.....

IIRC, the 4th gen was actually designed in California, as they wanted it to sell well in the big markets (the States), hence it's a bit of a swan in amongst the Honda ugly ducklings, no disrespect meant. If you look at it, you can see it really is pretty unlike anything else Honda penned.
