Nice little update.
Do I understand correctly that your pockets had to be opened all the time when you wanna see the light ?

You would be correct. The pocket does need to be open but that's no real issue as i had nowhere to fit the light without wrecking a part of the dash or trim

Why not modified a light in your cluster ?
That lights up when you're getting into vtec ?
Found a few how to's on that.

I did find a lot of how to guides online but if i were to put the vtec light in the dash then i would want it to say vtec. I have left a lot of wire behind the pocket so when i have found a way to get vtec printed onto translucent material its something i will change.

following from another wheel paint colour decision thread, i decided to go for a ford colour from halfords.
Polaris grey metalic..

plus a high sparkle lacquer.

so here is the condition of the wheels when i picked them up with the car.

lots of heavy corrosion but no pitting and very minimal kirbing.

here it is shot blasted.

whilst at it i thought id paint the rad bracket from rob quilters breaker and mine, plus the battery clamp.

and after priming, 2 top coats, 1 clear lacquer then the sparkle lacquer, here is the finished article.

here are the brackets fitted too.

its great having a shot blaster, paint booth and ovens at work.
total cost..
4 cans of halfords paint £28.
clear lacquer £5
sparkle lacquer £8
primer £7

£48 quid, 6 hrs labour.

im going to wait til next friday before i swap the tyres from my current wheels, firstly the paint although baked is still going to be soft and secondly... it saves me cleaning the wheels before japfest.
