Just got my renewal quote with a letter detailing some changes... Now 2279.98 with a 700 pound excess, and I can no longer drive other cars

Phoned them up told them I won't be having that, guy insisted on taking my details for a new quote, it ended up increasing even more

Check this website out and enter your postcode - It should give you a fair idea whether your area is high crime risk or not. Then you would expect high insurance costs

My street got 1  but it's basically in the city centre... if I added up all the numbers I would probably have a few hundred :?

Admiral Multi-Car was the best way for me to go atm, around about £550, not bad with 1 years no claim and points

Not necessarily.

Crime relates to lots of things. The only real relevant issues for motor insurance are theft and vandalism.

As a %, theft and vandalism claims only form a small amount of the total cost of claims.

The main rating will be relevant to accident frequency and accident cost, which is not crime related.

Frequency is likely to be higher in more densely populated areas, such as cities and large towns.

Claims costs are also noticeably higher in certain areas and this correlates with areas where insurance fraud is rife, ie cash for crash and staged accidents.

Admiral wanted £650 to renew FC.
Got a Swift quote for £330, result. then put the missus on as a named driver and it went down to £270! mega result!
