If it is the hose to the side, above the gearbox - as weird as it sounds, check your distributor is not leaking oil. (There is an O ring that can perish). Hot oil can drip directly onto the coolant hose and perish it over time.zombie tickler wrote:If i can do this as it is split right next to the block

Replacing the O-ring - mark the dizzy position with tipex or a pencil, undo 3 bolts holding the dizzy, replace the o-ring, refit dizzy and line up the marks, tighten the 3 bolts.
