Engine off, pull the fuse, leave for 10-20 seconds, put fuse back, start the car. This will reset the ECU and clear all stored CEL codes.

You don't have to drain the whole thing, although it is recommended to replace the coolant every 2 years regardless of the mileage.
There's a bleed valve on the thermostat housing. Coolant needs to be oozing out of this bubble-free when it's open and the engine is running.

What does the temperature gauge say though? Is it overheating? My fan doesn't really kick in unless I'm sitting in traffic.
