What have they done to that engine to get so much out it?

Can the same principles be applied to my engine?
I have read much into this engine as i have the B18C4 "de-tuned" version of the c6 engine (type r). There wasnt a special edition one of these, there is the dc2 uk spec, the dc2 98spec and both in the JDM version pre98 and 98spec. The whole engine is different in respect of, well pretty much everything. Comp ratio, hand ported head, the whole crank, pistons, rods ect are much lighter and more balanced. Cams, valves, valve springs. The way the pistons are shaped are different!! Much different map and redline, pre and post 98 spec headers are different again between ukdm and jdm. Intake system ect ect. I could go on and on, on the differences between the 4 variants of the dc2 tegg. the reason is that its much more refined for the mental small people market. All of the above if it were possible to even follow that kind of build on a h22, well it would be a rocket lol. They are out there just like the Accord type r motor. And the answer is yes the principles can be applied, at a great cost. ;)

  what else did it do  not saying anyones chip is dodgey but some cheapo chips lean of the fuel for hp gains with the expence of reliability, some of these chips (not all) but some raise the rev limit to daft levels without any change to fuel curve or ignition timing :o

eg: that wally that came on here with the gen5 he shipped to Ireland ;) the one with the obd1 coversition that revved to 11,000rpm :nono:
i find mine at 7500 not to bad but push her a little more and the valves would start to bounce and you will lose power :P

Well, sounds like you could pour thousands into an engine to get all that done. Maybe in a year or so I just opt for an ATR engine.

My mates DC2 is a 2000 Jap spec model which has an uprated air box, exhaust, and 16" alloys as standard rather than 15's. Can't remember what the exact model is called though? Can't ask him either cos he's in Taiwan atm! Sure he said it develops more power than the regular JDM of the same year.

So yea it would be a JDM 98spec ITR. The fastest DC2 out there in stock form. 4-1 header standard and megga aggressive. Was gna be putting a ITR B18C6 lump in my deck before the lude came up. Glad i got her tho ;) Could be tuned by some mental jap company tbh!!

we have them all on here m8 ;)
alex had a 227bhp that was a rocket, ben has a 244bhp monster and dino's paw tuned 277bhp was a bloody animal of a lude ;)
all these have ££££ and blood, sweat and love in them. they are all teg and civic eaters without having to claim massive bhp numbers ;)
you wait till rob rolls out his jrsc 300bhp+ (you would need to take a spare pair of pants for a ride in that one  )
have driven and had rides in some mega power cars and none compare to the smile factor of H22 Vtec

Yeah, that sounds like the one. Awesome car to drive! The engine sounds angry, and just pulls & pulls

That's what I'd like out of the 2.2 - only potentially better..

One step at a time. Looks like I've got a lot of reading & saving up to do.
