They were not only graphics used when cars were sold back to the dealerships, it was also when they were sold by the dealerships, and there was a signature strip on the rear where the examiner would sign to say that the car was ok to be sold by Honda (be it new sale or second hand).

I know from paperwork I have with my Aerodeck as it was owned by the original owner from new until 2009 when it was sold in the auction of his estate when he died, and I bought it from that chap, and mine did have the OK Honda sticker, signed and in mint condition, till I removed it ready for when I get my windows tinted.

I do believe you're right though Sam about it being a water slide / transfer style design, rather than an actual sticker, as when I removed mine, it didn't peel away so much as crumbled away, and even old stickers wouldn't crumble like this did. Plus there was no residue on the window.

When you say water slide, is that like the old Airfix transfers? They were on glossy paper and you had to soak them to separate them? If so then that would probably be right.

If someone is making these, I'll have a pair for nostalgia sake 8-)

your correct shiny, what i was also thinking was to lightly laquer the printed side so that it has some protection and also to help stop it curling when water is applied to the backing. this will also help it to keep its shape. as i will be printing these in reverse the sticky/wet side the face that sticks to the glass will be un affected.

not perfect but until nath can sort out a proper image it will do as a proof.

i have printed some and have fitted one to the inside.

looks a bit misty until it dries but should be ok.

im ok-ish. That was using Microsoft paint. Not to the standards or quality that Nathan can produce but it was just to see if my printer ink was up to the task without the ink running as i soaked the card.

not sure it will help but...

some french owners of old honda's wanted a few years ago to have that sticker too. the only thing I found on the topic is this png file :

and this was the result (the guy who printed the stickers forgot to cut the edge, people had to do it by themselves) :
