I remember chaseing around on my ex's civic to try and find some hesitiation, never found out in the end
maybe when you drive it, take it for a good blast it might clear some cobwebs

MOT Result
Well back from MOT and SHE PASSED!!!
Just one advisory which is a bit of corrosion on the NS rear brake pipe and I need to sort one of the rear number plate lamps (They would have changed the bulb, but the screws are screwed... No surprises there lol).
Oh and emissions, which can be a max of 3.5%... Were at 0.08%
So she's running on pretty much air at idle, which has to be the reason for her surging idle when warm, so I just need to track down what's casuing that. I had popped out to MotorFactors and picked up a new fuel filter and injector cleaner thinking that might an issue, but now having seen the emissions are that low, it must be another sensor somewhere. (No lambda sensors by the way.)
Still, going to tax her, and then off I go for a first pootle

Re: Nathan's BA4 3rd Gen
Just doesn't like being under 2k revs. Just driven to my folks to print off some shipping labels and under 2k she likes to judder
Going to makes use of my Dad's garage whilst I'm here though and swap in the new fuel filter and also the water temp sensor I've just robbed from the silver Lude, which again shares the exact same part number as the 3rd gens. See if that has any effect. Otherwise I'm not sure what other sensors there can be
Other than that though you can tell she wants to go
She's frikin loud though
Need a new back box fast me thinks

Re: Nathan's BA4 3rd Gen
Well I'm back from my pootle
I replaced the fuel filter and also fit the known good temperature sensor (the original one was all blackened), but she still surging. She'll basically do it when she's not under load, so even if I'm cruising down a hill at 3k, but not acellerating she'll start doing it.
On a lighter note though, when I got as far as I wanted on my drive this evening, at the end of the duel carriage way there's an option to do a U'ey, which I did... Completely forgetting I now own a car with 4WS
Well that's a new experience I think I liked!
Felt like the back end was sliding out, but in control
And on another note, a very loud one, I need to replace that backbox
It's crazy loud, and I've currently got no back seats fitted either (since the welding) so anything over 3k was just ridiculous
Oh and the OS rear brake rubs in one spot on every revolution, but the caliper isn't overheating. Just another thing to add to the list. I'll get there
