HELP BB4

hi new to this site and ludes, i have a 4th gen bb4 for 3 weeks now and tonight after dropping some friends in town is started losing power and the lights on the dash (engine,brake lamp, battery etc ) started coming on then going off, it then died in the middle of the dule carrige way, tryed to start her straight away but with no luck. after about 3 minutes of trying she started and was running fine like nothing happened although the check engine light is on but goes on and off by its self.

I have checked the battery to make sure it wasnt lose but all seems fine,does any body know what this could be?

Mine did the same thing was my alternator dying

also just double check the connection+ground wires are properly connected and not corroded

Ignition switch. The're known for bad connections causing intermittent cut outs, etc.

^ what he said. I had exactly that happen on my first BB1. Cleaned all the contacts and problem solved. I hope its that simple for yours.

hi m8 glad to see you came on.

this is the one i put in general chat last night, BB4 with no abs but has sunroof, aircon and cruise control

what about the main relay? breaking down and when it cools down making contact?

intro yourself in newbie section and get some piccys up m8 they are all piccy mad on here

I think main relay only affects it on startup, though I could be wrong.

If the engine light is coming on and off you'll be able to pull the code for it.

Cheers Nathan my light has come on a couple of times in the past week and now more often so ill do this tomorrow.

When my alternator went the revs were going up and down then the battery and cat light came on. I then lost all electrics although the car was still running when I tried to work anything electrical it killed the engine
