KPH to MPH

Hello,
so i mentioned in a previous post that there was an issue with my speedo and that it is not reading correctly.
after a bit of research i have found a chip that changes the clocks from KPH to MPH and on looking behind my tweeter speaker cover i have found such a chip but the whole thing is split in two hence thinking there is my problem.
has anyone every used one of these chips and are they fairly straight forward to fit.
thanks

I
think everyone with an import is running these chips to convert their speedometers and to remove the 112mph limiter.. and seeing as you've found yours and it's broken, buy another one, chop out the old one and replace it - can you use a soldering iron? Failing that, can you work a roll of insulation tape

If it's behind the clocks you will have MPH but still the 112mph limiter

ive a spare convertor that
@craig_jdm gave me the other day - thats if you want to replace the broken chip
mind u im sure that if you fit a set of ukdm el dials and get a V2 chip from Rob then you wont need any convertor chip
(im sure ive got a spare set of ukdm el dails for that reason but not fitted them yet...)
you also get rid of the 112mph limiter and get vtec in first gear

yeah the chip thats in it is just a small rectangular box it was sitting behind the tweeter speaker cover 2 wires and the wiring goes behind the clock so my assumptions are that this is the conversion chip and the dials have just had MPH sticker over the KPH that was there i have heard that importers will do this quite often.
I suppose at the end of the day i will need to replace as it is cracked safe to say it could be malfunctioning @vanzep any chance you can send a picture if you have a spare one and pm me for how much you would be looking for it.
thanks

Nope! Mine still displays in KPH and is limited to 112 MPH. It's not really an issue for me.
It doesn't take much to work out the speed in MPH and I've never taken it to a private airfield.
Rip it out sol-lude! Problem solved!!

Is that because your car never gets driven, it's just looked at in mirrors (no direct eye contact) and cleaned every 10 minutes?
..I just wish my 'lude was as nice as yours..

Here is a pic of the convertor
@craig-jdm gave me it for free - so just paypal me a pound and drop me a note of your address and i will pop it in the post for ya.
Ive never located my convertor chip as yet so no idea if this is the same one but they all do the same thing so should be fine.
